CCD visual inspection has become a comprehensive technology that integrates optics, electronics, precision machinery, and computer skills. In fact, CCD can be used wherever film and photoelectric inspection technology are available.

CCD can be referred to as CCD image sensor. CCD is a semiconductor device that can convert optical images into digital signals on a chip. CCD vision, more commonly understood, refers to a camera equipped with a CCD chip. This type of camera is used in industrial production to form a set of equipment with detection functions, which is called CCD visual inspection equipment.

CCD visual inspection equipment relies on CCD imaging cameras and detection systems, among which the detection system is important. The detection system is based on customer requirements for product detection, and the system development engineer develops it according to customer requirements. Note: There are commonly used detection systems in the industry, which are usually pre developed and may integrate most of the detection functions. When the requirements can be met, it can be directly purchased and integrated with hardware for utilization.

The advantages of CCD visual inspection mainly include the following five points:


1. High quantum power

This is its greatest advantage, with a uniform quantum power of 30% to 50%, and up to 90%, which is approximately 100 times that of typical photographic film.


2. Wide corresponding spectral scale

The spectral response scale of CCD is 400-1100nm, which extends much towards the near-infrared band compared to the active band scale of typical photographic emulsions (350-700nm).


3. Good linearity

The imaging intensity is directly proportional to the incident light flux and has an excellent linear relationship.


4. Wide dynamic scale

CCD dynamic scale refers to the star magnitude difference between the darkest and brightest stars that can be explored. The dynamic scale of CCD can reach 105, far superior to film.


5. High resolution ability

The smaller the pixel standard, the higher the resolution. The pixel standard of CCD produced now is 9-25 μ m, which is appropriate for the resolution of fine particle film.
